Solid moves are necessary to guide and overhaul public security team, said State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Zhao Kezhi at a meeting on July 9.

A campaign toward that end should be carried out in public security departments across China, with an emphasis on police cadres at the ministerial, provincial, city and county levels, he said.

By addressing problems such as misconduct, the aim is to ensure stricter discipline and enhanced respectability among police personnel, Zhao said.

It will also support them in fulfilling their missions to the Party and people in the new era, he added.
