About us

The Gazette of the State Council of the People's Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as State Council Gazette) - edited and published by the General Office of the State Council - has been the official publication of the Chinese central government since 1955, with readers at home and abroad.

The State Council Gazette consists of the following sections :

Administrative regulations, resolutions and executive orders promulgated by the State Council;

Decisions made by the State Council concerning organizational adjustments, changes of administrative areas, and official appointments and removals ;

Rules and regulations from government departments and agencies, as well as documents authorized for publication.

According to the Law on Legislation of the People's Republic of China, the version appearing in the State Council Gazette shall be considered the official version.

The State Council Gazette is issued every 10 days - on the 10th, 20th, and 30th - of each month, and priced at 2.5 yuan per issue. The 36 issues of a year cost a total of 90 yuan. Readers can also order individual issues, or subscribe for any period of three months.

For subscriptions in the Chinese mainland, please contact local post offices (Postal Distribution Code: 2-2). Subscriptions outside the Chinese mainland can be made through China International Book Trading Corporation (Overseas Subscription No: T311).

The Chinese government's website (http://www.gov.cn/) and its English-language website (http://english.gov.cn/) both feature pages on documents and gazettes issued by the State Council, allowing users to read or download free of charge.

In the event of discrepancy between the content on the English-language website and the Chinese version, the latter shall prevail.

The annual bound edition of the State Council Gazette is issued every February, and costs 180 yuan per copy (postage included). Readers can contact the State Council Gazette Editorial Office for mail orders.
