BEIJING — Bond issuances in China totaled 4.4 trillion yuan (about $679.6 billion) in May, data from the central bank shows.
Treasury bond issuances amounted to 375.76 billion yuan, while local government bond issuances stood at 875.34 billion yuan, according to the People's Bank of China.
In May, issuances of financial bonds came in at 610.59 billion yuan, while corporate credit bond issuances totaled 578.04 billion yuan.
Issuances of credit-asset-backed securities stood at 95.83 billion yuan, and issuances of interbank deposit certificates hit 1.8 trillion yuan.
By the end of May, outstanding bonds held in custody were at 122.2 trillion yuan, central bank data shows.
