BEIJING — Important consensus has been reached by China and the European Union (EU) at a recent high-level economic and trade meeting, and the cooperation between the two sides will stabilize the global economy and boost its recovery, the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) said on June 28.
China and the EU achieved fruitful results at the 7th China-EU High-level Economic and Trade Dialogue held on June 25 in Beijing, MOC spokesperson Gao Feng told a news conference.
Consensus has been reached in fields including improving global economic governance, safeguarding the multilateral trade system, and liberalizing and facilitating trade and investment.
The two sides also agreed to strengthen cooperation in fields like digital economy, e-commerce, circular economy, fighting white pollution and climate change, as well as agriculture and finance, Gao said.
He said China-EU economic and trade cooperation will be an important source of growth for global economy especially under the current situation of rising protectionism.
