BEIJING — The State Council, China’s cabinet, announced the appointment and removal of several officials on Nov 7.

Lin Rui was appointed as vice-minister of public security, while Lu Hao, minister of natural resources, will concurrently be general supervisor of national natural resources, according to a statement issued by the State Council.

Kuresh Mahsut, vice-minister of natural resources, will concurrently be vice general supervisor of national natural resources, it said.

Li Yuanyuan was shifted from serving as president of Jilin University to serving as president of the Huazhong University of Science and Technology, replacing Ding Lieyun, the statement said.

Meanwhile, Liu Junchen was removed from the post of deputy head of the National Intellectual Property Administration, it said.
