Highlights of foreign congratulatory messages on PRC's 70th founding anniversary (19)

BEIJING — Leaders of foreign countries and international organizations have sent congratulatory messages to President Xi Jinping to convey their best wishes on the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC).

The following is an edited summary of some of these messages.

Sultan Qaboos bin Said of Oman said he believes the two countries' friendly cooperative relations will be further consolidated and developed, so as to better benefit the two countries and peoples.

Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa said that Bahrain-China ties are friendly and solid, and that he hopes to continue to lift the level of bilateral ties. He also wishes China constant development and advancement.

Ethiopian President Sahle-Work Zewde wishes China harmony, advancement and prosperity, adding that the Ethiopian side is committed to further deepening and strengthening friendly bilateral relations.

Tunisia's interim President Mohamed Ennaceur said this year marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Tunisia and China, adding that he is willing to work with China to deepen the Tunisia-China friendship and lift the level of bilateral ties with full efforts.

Seychelles President Danny Faure said his country sees China as its important partner and friend in the international community, adding that he hopes that Seychelles could play an important part in promoting the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), especially the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.

Burundian President Pierre Nkurunziza said Burundi will be firmly committed to deepening bilateral relations with China so as to benefit the two brotherly countries.

Guinea-Bissau's President Jose Mario Vaz said he wishes the Chinese people happiness and health, who always stand with the people of Guinea-Bissau, and expressed willingness to further strengthen bilateral ties.

Benin's President Patrice Talon said China has created brilliant achievements on the path of national development and attained remarkable success.

Togolese President Faure Gnassingbe said China's development is admirable and sets an example for a wide range of developing countries.

Noting that China firmly upholds multilateralism, Gnassingbe said both the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and the BRI are creative endeavors for promoting China-Africa cooperation.

Malawian President Peter Mutharika said he wishes that the Malawi-China friendship may continue to thrive and China may constantly make progress.

Madagascar's President Andry Rajoelina said China's development has set an example for his country, and Chinese people's love for and contribution to their motherland represent the country's harmony and unity.

Cote d'Ivoire's President Alassane Ouattara said he wishes the friendly Chinese people peace, success and lasting prosperity, and expects bilateral ties to grow further.

Burkina Faso President Roch Marc Christian Kabore said the PRC's founding is a great event in the world history, adding that he is willing to join hands with Xi to further strengthen bilateral relations.

King Letsie III of Lesotho said Lesotho is committed to closely cooperating with China and further promoting bilateral ties to a higher level so as to benefit the two peoples.

President Faustin-Archange Touadera of the Central African Republic (CAR) said the CAR and China are closely connected by the sincere friendship, solidarity, cooperation and the notion of a community with a shared future, adding that he hopes to further strengthen bilateral ties.

Equatorial Guinea's President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo said his country will be committed to constantly consolidating and strengthening its sound cooperative relations with China.

President of Sao Tome and Principe Evaristo Carvalho said he is willing and determined to make all-out efforts to further strengthen the friendly ties between the two countries and benefit the two peoples.

Prince Albert II, head of state of the Principality of Monaco, said this year is of significance to both China and to Monaco-China ties, adding that Xi's successful state visit to Monaco in March has opened a new chapter of the bilateral ties.
