Updated: April 14, 2020 17:21 Xinhua

BEIJING — Drivers will be able to deal with their off-site traffic violations at traffic management agencies nearby, according to China's traffic management authority.

Off-site traffic violations can be handled at any traffic management agency inside or outside the region where the wrongdoings take place, read the revised regulation on traffic violation handling procedures to take effect on May 1.

Previously, off-site traffic violations such as running red lights, speeding and illegal parking, which are usually captured by cameras or informed with tickets, could only be handled at traffic management agencies where the wrongdoings took place or the vehicles were registered.

The adjustment will be piloted in Hunan, Sichuan, Guizhou and Yunnan provinces and Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region beginning on May 1, and will be implemented nationwide in late June.
