BEIJING — Here are the latest developments on the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in China:

— Chinese health authority said on May 2 that it received reports of one new confirmed COVID-19 case on the Chinese mainland on May 1, which was an imported case.

Two suspected cases, both imported from abroad, were reported, the National Health Commission said in a daily report.

No deaths were reported on May 1 on the mainland, according to the commission.

— Hubei, the Central Chinese province hard hit by the COVID-19 epidemic, saw a steep fall in tourist numbers on the first day of the five-day May Day holiday.

Twenty-two major tourist attractions that have reopened in the province had received 109,664 visitors as of 2 pm on May 1, down 86.97 percent year-on- year, according to the provincial culture and tourism bureau.

— South China's Guangdong province has unveiled measures requiring nine sectors, namely healthcare, education, catering, transportation, tourist attractions, hospitality, shopping malls, residential communities and house leasing, to offer equal services in accordance with laws and regulations to all Chinese and foreign nationals in the province.
