BEIJING — Here are the latest developments on the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in China:
— No new domestically transmitted cases of COVID-19 were reported on the Chinese mainland for May 4.
One confirmed case arriving from overseas was reported in Shanghai on May 4. No new suspected cases or deaths related to the disease were reported.
— More Chinese provinces decided to further downgrade its public health emergency response for COVID-19.
East China's Shandong province starting from May 6 will shift its emergency response to novel coronavirus from the second-highest level to the third level. Central China's Henan province will do the same also from May 6.
— Beijing had seen no newly confirmed locally-transmitted or imported COVID-19 cases for 19 consecutive days as of May 4.
