China’s largest carrier rocket, the Long March-5, is expected to make its first trip into space in the coming days. Authorities said that after finishing the final assembly and tests, the rocket was transported to the launch site on Oct 28.

This transfer signifies that the rocket’s launch has entered its final stage of preparations. The Long March-5 arrived at the Wenchang launch center in South China’s Hainan province in September. With the strongest load capacity in China, the rocket will receive functional examinations and further tests before its launch.

According to authorities, the Long March-5 integrates top space technologies. This includes non-toxic environmentally friendly fuel and a highly stable controlling system. The technological capabilities represent a landmark development in the country’s carrier rocket program.
