China eliminated a third batch of 39 administrative approval items that the central authority had designated to local governments, according to a circular issued by the State Council on Jan 21.
The canceled items include those such as the establishment of kindergartens, middle schools and vocational schools, identification of agencies for overseas study and the activity approvals in villages and towns with history and culture.
As for another 14 items that were established in accordance with laws and regulations, the State Council will submit to the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress for amendment on such laws and regulations.
The State Council urged all the regions and departments to implement the before and after supervision, and help to improve the efficiency of administrative approval reform.
