Premier Li Keqiang has urged for business models based on big data to push forward public entrepreneurship and innovation.
Li made the remarks in a congratulation letter to the opening ceremony of the International Big Data Expo 2015 in Guiyang, Guizhou province, on May 26.
Li said big data, combined with cloud computing and the Internet of Things, is changing people’s lives dramatically. The Internet Plus strategy will play a key role in improving industrial and the nation’s competitiveness.
Li stressed that China, with its large population and wide use of information technology, has great prospects for the development of big data. China is working on the Internet Plus strategy to promote business models based on big data, improve governance to better deal with public affairs in transportation, medical services and education, and support public entrepreneurship and innovation.
Li said big data offers opportunities for different countries and regions. He expressed his hope to see people at the expo come up with better ideas to contribute to the nation’s development in an efficient and eco-friendly and compassionate way.
