Premier Li Keqiang highlighted the role of international cooperation on production capacity and equipment manufacturing in promoting China’s economic growth in a written instruction.
Boosting such cooperation is essential to arresting economic slowdown, achieving medium-to high-speed growth and a medium-to-high grade of development, integrating deeper into the global economy and realizing win-win cooperation with other countries, the Premier said. The instruction was sent to a meeting on central State-owned enterprises’ participation in the Belt and Road Initiative and international cooperation on production capacity and equipment manufacturing. The meeting was held on June 18-19 in Beijing.
Equipment manufacturers have made much headway in recent years in their “going-out” strategy and central SOEs have played a leading role, thus contributing greatly to economic development and international cooperation, he noted.
China faces important opportunities to use its advantages in industrial capacity to expand international capacity cooperation.
Central SOES should combine the Belt and Road Initiative, innovate modes of cooperation, focus on improving product quality, services and brands and attach equal importance to technological upgrade and management enhancement while going global, he said.
The Premier also encouraged the enterprises to play a bigger part in the country’s healthier growth focusing on quality and efficiency and opening to the outside world.
