Premier Li Keqiang said on Sept 2 that China and the Republic of Korea (ROK) should link innovation with industries to further promote bilateral cooperation in emerging industries.

The Premier made his remarks during a meeting with ROK President Park Geun-hye, who is in Beijing to attend activities marking the 70th anniversary of victory in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression (1937-45) and the World Anti-Fascist War.

China and ROK should use the free trade agreement and growing complementary economic potential to promote cooperation in equipment manufacturing, technology and the financial sector, he said.

Noting that China and ROK had helped and supported each other in the war against aggression and colonialism, Premier Li said the victory is worth celebrating by both countries.

As well as areas mentioned by Premier Li, Park said her country is willing to promote cultural communication with China by enhancing cooperation in cultural industries.

The leaders agreed that China and ROK should make efforts to establish meetings attended by heads of China, ROK and Japan which they believe will be beneficial to regional stability and prosperity.
