At a dinner hosted by the Republic of Korea President Park Geun-hye at the Blue House on Oct 31, Premier Li Keqiang said his trip to the ROK could be compared to visiting a close neighbor nearby.
Hours after the Premier’s arrival, 17 cooperation deals were signed with the ROK, covering areas including protection of consumers’ legal rights and importing traditional Korean food.
Premier Li and President Park also decided to establish a cooperative platform of innovation and entrepreneurship for the two countries’ younger people.
The two parties discussed integrating their strategic plans: China’s Belt and Road Initiative with the ROK’s “Eurasia Initiative”, China’s “mass innovation and entrepreneurship” with the ROK’s “innovative economy”, “Made in China 2025” with the “Manufacturing Innovation 3.0” of the ROK, and expansion of third-party markets.
Premier Li’s visit helps strengthen the close ties of the two governments and people-to-people exchange, People’s Daily hailed.
The visit will deepen China-ROK cooperation that has already been on a “fast track”, and help achieve goals for regional peace and world prosperity, it said.
