Premier Li Keqiang visited a nursing home in Yuanzhou District of Guyuan, Ningxia Hui autonomous region, on Feb 1 and spent Minor Spring Festival with senior citizens at the nursing home, bringing them gifts and good wishes.

Minor Spring Festival falls on the 23rd or 24th of the 12th month of the lunar year, when sacrifices are made to the kitchen god.

“During the important festival of our Chinese nation, Spring Festival, we must not forget senior citizens,” said the Premier.

While putting up a wall hanging with two Chinese characters indicating good fortune and longevity, he said the two characters represent the most important things for seniors.

He brought two pieces of new clothing as gifts for the 78-year-old Hai Baoting and his wife, and helped them try it on.

While having lunch with the senior citizens, the Premier told another old man, Ma Ancang, that he had a healthy and hearty look before filling a bowl of hot dumplings for him. After that, the Premier made a toast to good health, happiness and longevity.
