“Internet Plus” has profoundly changed China since Premier Li Keqiang first mentioned the Internet Plus action plan in the government work report for 2015.

In the past year, the word has become a catchphrase not only in China, but also around the world.

Domestic language research centers and publishers recognized it as the keyword of the year, and US-based The Wall Street Journal also ranked it as the No 1 buzzword in China for 2015.

As a national strategy, Internet Plus not only adds a new expression to the language, but also helps create new driving forces, and provides convenience to the people. Promoting the development of Internet Plus is a great opportunity for China to achieve economic upgrade, said the Premier.

The “Internet Plus” strategy inspires new economic models, and it can transform traditional industries.

The State Council also issued guidelines on Internet Plus to support key areas such as entrepreneurship and innovation, public services, e-commerce and artificial intelligence.

“Made in China 2025 strategy, mass entrepreneurship and innovation and Internet Plus should be combined to carry out a new round of industrial revolution,” said the Premier.

With the development of Internet Plus, Premier Li also called for integrating the Internet thinking pattern with reform of the governments’ administrative approvals. He thought highly of the local government utilizing the cloud computing platform to supervise law enforcement departments to exercise power in Guizhou province and launched an online supervision platform for investment projects at the National Development and Reform Commission.

With more administrative work being processed online, people can benefit from more convenience, showing that the government’s responsibility is to serve the people.
