Premier Li Keqiang and leaders from Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam, who had received ceremonial bamboo tubes with Mekong River water inside, poured the six tubes of water into one at the launching site.

The ceremony symbolized the “shared river, shared future” of the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation, officially launching the mechanism on March 23 in Sanya, Hainan province.
