Premier Li Keqiang has given important instructions to a teleconference on starting a new round of power grid upgrades in rural areas.

Premier Li pointed out that the upgrade project serves multiple purposes, including narrowing the urban-rural gap in public services, promoting agricultural modernization and increasing effective investment.

The Premier stressed that government at all levels should strengthen the leadership, coordination and scientific planning in the investment and finance mechanism innovation, and in the organization and implementation of the project.

The Premier also called for power grid enterprises to make every effort to complete the upgrade projects on time and to do the highest quality work.
