Premier Li Keqiang added three key words to the concept of Big Data: “taking the lead”, “spirit of craftsmanship” and “serve the people”, while speaking with business leaders in Guizhou during the China Big Data Industry Summit & China e-commerce Innovation and Development Summit.
Premier Li emphasized “taking the lead” to remind China to take better take advantage of Internet technology to lead the global revolution in technology and science in the era of Big Data.
Judging from history, technology has played a critical role in the rise of any great nation such as England, Germany, America and Japan. So China should take this opportunity to step up its development. Premier Li explained how the Big Date industry can help a less developed province to compete with developed regions and even gain great profits.
Premier Li urged the integration of new economy and traditional economy by practicing “the spirit of craftsmanship”, such as sampling and analyzing data collected from customers. The results would be used to design new products, improving the level of traditional manufacturing industries to better meet market demands.
And the Premier hopes for not only short-term integration but a long-term and substantial one. He asked for a reshaping of the value chain of the production supply to both promote further growth of the new economy and inject new vitality to traditional industries, creating “twin engines” for the Chinese economy.
The Premier also explained “serving the people”. He said China has a population of over 1.3 billion, so any new engine in the economy should make a deep impact on social development and people’s living. So the government will support e-commerce, cross-border e-commerce, cloud computing, big data and Internet of Things, which can make people’s lives easier and benefit them.
