Premier Li’s remarks promote traditional Chinese culture

The traditional Dragon Boat Festival is around the corner. On June 9, Chinese will celebrate this holiday, which has a history of 2,000 years. Premier Li Keqiang has given instructions on many occasions to promote traditional Chinese culture.

On March 5, 2016, Premier Li said in his government work report that efforts should be made to help people become rich in their material and spiritual lives through a modern public cultural service system, civil moral development and promotion of Chinese culture.

On April 27, 2015, when meeting with Rao Zongyi, a renowned Chinese scholar and artist, Premier Li noted that culture is the blood and soul of a people and it is the common wish of all Chinese people at home and abroad to inherit and promote Chinese culture.

On March 5, 2015, Premier Li said in the government work report that efforts should be made to provide people with more and better cultural achievements.

On Feb 9, 2015, during the meeting with newly-appointed State Council counselors, Premier Li said that a spiritual life and pursuit of it has always been the focus of traditional Chinese culture.

On Nov 21, 2014, during a visit to Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site, Premier Li stressed that while urbanization is promoted, efforts should be made to preserve, inherit and promote traditional culture and integrate cultural excellence into modern life.
