Premier Li meets with Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev

Premier Li Keqiang met with Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia on July 16.

The Premier extended cordial greetings from President Xi Jinping to President Rosen Plevneliev. Premier Li said China and Bulgaria have a traditional friendship and the two countries have maintained good development momentum. Mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries is full of vitality, he said.

The Premier said China is willing to deepen the synergy of the development plan with Bulgaria, enhance communication and cooperation in all sectors and people-to-people exchanges. China would enhance its cooperation with Bulgaria under the framework of cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries, he said. China hoped Bulgaria would play an active role in promoting China-EU relations, he added.

The Premier said China has consistently pursued an independent foreign policy of peace, unswervingly carrying out a peaceful development path, and is also willing to strengthen cooperation with all countries around the world, including Bulgaria, to safeguard world peace and stability and promote common development and prosperity.

Plevneliev said he is proud and grateful of the relationship between Bulgaria and China and that they have made positive progress. All Bulgarian leaders have made efforts to promote the development of China-Bulgaria relations. They spoke highly of China’s persistence of peaceful development, and firmly believed China’s development road will be beneficial to the world.

Bulgaria is willing to further strengthen communication at all levels and enhance cooperation in all sectors with China, Plevneliev said. Bulgaria supports central and eastern countries to deepen cooperation with China, and hopes to take the lead in developing relationships with China, he said.
