Premier Li Keqiang said on Sept 30 that China treats Belarus as an important partner and would like to boost mutual-trust, high-level communication and pragmatic cooperation with the eastern European country.
Premier Li made these remarks when he met with Alexander Lukashenko, the President of Belarus, in Beijing.
China is willing to find the overlap between China’s Belt and Road Initiative and the Belarusian strategy of building industrial parks, promoting cooperation on equipment manufacturing and the “international industrial capacity”, the Premier said, adding that both sides ought to strengthen cultural exchange and communication on the local level.
He also wished that Belarus can provide more convenience to Chinese enterprises that invest there.
Lukashenko said Belarus and China have a long-standing friendship and high potential for cooperation. He praised China for its commitment to economic reform and opening up, and the strategy of peaceful development. Belarus would like to learn from China and boost China-Belarus cooperation in a variety of fields, including infrastructure, industrial parks and technology, he said.
He added that Belarus will try its best to bring convenience to Chinese enterprises that do business in his country, creating a bright future for bilateral ties.
