Premier Li praises and encourages ‘Made in China’

Made in China 2025 is the first 10-year action plan designed to turn China into a global manufacturing power. As Premier Li Keqiang said in his work report in 2015, China should boost innovation and smart transformation, and enhance green growth to achieve the transformation from a manufacturing giant into a global manufacturing power.

In the past two years, the Premier inspected a number of enterprises, encouraging them to contribute to the national strategy.

Zhuzhou city, Hunan province, July 2014

On July 4, 2014, Premier Li inspected China South Locomotive & Rolling Stock Corporation in Zhuzhou city, Hunan province, before it merged with China CNR Corporation.

“Locomotives represent Chinese equipment manufacturing in overseas markets. I have promoted the company’s products in all my foreign visits, so you must value the reputation. Quality is the backbone of Chinese equipment, and the basic guarantee for us to obtain global recognition,” said Premier Li.

Changchun city, Jilin province, April 2015

On April 10, 2015, Premier Li visited Changchun Railway Vehicles of China North Locomotive & Rolling Stock Corporation in Changchun, Jilin province, before it merged with CSR Corporation to form CRRC Corporation.

“I speak for Chinese equipment, and I hope you build a golden reputation for made-in-China,” said Premier Li.

Quanzhou city, Fujian province, April 2015

On April 23, 2015, Premier Li inspected J-TECH CNC Machinery in Quanzhou, Fujian province.

“Promotion of the ‘Made in China 2025’ should be accelerated to maintain the medium-to-high-speed growth of China’s economy,” said Premier Li.

Beijing, June 2015

On June 15, 2015, Premier Li visited China Nuclear Power Engineering Company in Beijing to learn about China’s 3rd generation nuclear power technology.

“Made in China started from original equipment manufacturer consumer goods, and has now stepped into a new stage of large equipment. I hope nuclear power could take the path of high-speed trains, and build a new image of China in the international market,” said Premier Li.

Dailian city, Liaoning province, September 2015

On Sept 12, 2015, Premier Li inspected Dalian Huarui Heavy Industry Group in Liaoning province.

“Drilling platforms are used to tap offshore oil and gas, and require fine technology and low cost. Chinese equipment has the best cost performance in the world. As long as we seize opportunities in international cooperation, the Northeast will have a promising future,” said Premier Li.

“The core of Made in China 2025 is smart upgrading of the manufacturing industry. We should combine State-owned enterprises’ reform with mass entrepreneurship and innovation, and strengthen core competitiveness of enterprises,” the Premier added.

Luoyang city, Henan province, September 2015

On Sept 23, 2015, Premier Li visited a leading mining machinery manufacturer in Luoyang, Henan province, and expressed the hope that workers, technicians, and social maker groups would use Internet Plus to promote Chinese brands and equipment to go global, demonstrate competitive capacity and create China’s own golden brands.

“Mass entrepreneurship and innovation is not only the way of survival for small and medium-sized enterprises, but also an approach for large enterprises to realize prosperous growth,” said the Premier.

Hefei city, Anhui province, October 2015

Premier Li on Oct 30, 2015 visited Jianghuai Automobile Corporation, a Hefei-based automaker, to inspect the research and development work being carried out by the company on new energy vehicles.

During the tour, he sat inside a new energy vehicle and asked details about its parts and components.

“Green development requires green products. Innovation is the real ‘engine’ for developing new energy vehicles. We should promote open cooperation and strive to develop core technologies to build Chinese brands,” said the Premier.

Taiyuan city, Shanxi province, January 2016

Premier Li inspected the Qingkong innovation maker space in Taiyuan, Shanxi province, on Jan 5, 2016. He also experienced a solar car developed by a company in the industrial park.

“Entrepreneurs should make efforts to create new driving engines, foster new growth drivers and expand development space,” said the Premier.

Yinchuan city, Ningxia Hui autonomous region, February 2016

Premier Li visited Kocel Machinery Co Ltd in Yinchuan, capital of Ningxia Hui autonomous region, on Feb 2, 2016.

The company, founded in 1966, used to be a State-owned foundry enterprise. After reorganization, it has made a revolutionary breakthrough in 3D-printing.

“‘Turning a homely woman into a fair lady’ represents the integration of ‘Made in China 2025’ and the internet, and the transformation from old growth drivers to new ones,” said the Premier.

Shiyan city, Hubei province, May 2016

Premier Li inspected a new plant of Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle in Shiyan city, Hubei province, on May 23, 2016. He was invited to be a booster for a heavy truck produced by the plant.

The Premier stressed that only by developing high-quality products can Chinese enterprises gain competence in the world market.

“I am not only fueling for Dongfeng, but also for all made-in-China products,” said the Premier.

Tianjin, June 2016

Premier Li visited a Flying Pigeon bicycle experience store in Tianjin on June 26, 2016. He lifted a super intelligent bicycle handmade from carbon fiber, then took it for a test ride at the store, which features 100-year-old brands.

“I would like to advertise Chinese bicycles, and I’m willing to support the intelligent upgrading of the ‘Made in China’ strategy,” said the Premier.
