Premier Li Keqiang on Nov 1 sent a written instruction to the ongoing World Life Science Conference 2016.
In the instruction, the Premier said life science, concerning human survival, health and sustainable development, is an important comprehensive subject area in the 21st century.
The Chinese government is expanding its innovation-driven development strategy, carrying out the plan of Healthy China 2030, driving the development of research in the life science field and its related industries through science and technology innovation, which will have increasingly important and obvious functions for improving people’s health and living standards and the quality of environment, according to the instruction.
The Premier also said that Chinese scientists and entrepreneurs, with an eye toward the theme of this conference, could work with their counterparts in other countries to further strengthen communication and cooperation, learn from each other, face the challenges of human existence with more scientific breakthroughs and innovation and form new productivity to push the world’s social and economic sustainable development and create a better future for humans.
