Premier Li Keqiang arrived in the Kazakh capital Astana on Nov 3, local time, to attend the third regular meeting between Chinese and Kazakh prime ministers.

Premier Li is scheduled to meet with Kazakh Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev and Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev on this trip, which is Premier Li’s second visit to the Central Asian country in two years. The regular meeting mechanism was established in 2012 to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.

Upon his arrival in Astana, the Premier said he hoped to work with Kazakhstan to consolidate and deepen friendship and mutual trust, as well as actively explore new growth momentum to bring the comprehensive strategic partnership to a new high level.

Premier Li flew to Astana from the Kyrgyz capital Bishkek after attending the 15th Meeting of Heads of Government of Shanghai Cooperation Organization Council, which focused on economic and security issues within the region. Sagintayev was also present at the meeting.
