Premier Li Keqiang held talks separately on Nov 5 with Lithuanian Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevicius and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico during the fifth summit of China and Central and Eastern European Countries in the National Library in Riga, capital of Latvia.

In talking with Butkevicius, Premier Li said China-Lithuania relations have developed smoothly, and China appreciates Lithuania’s efforts in developing bilateral relations.

“China is willing to strengthen pragmatic cooperation and achieve mutual benefit and a win-win result for the benefit of the peoples of both countries,” the Premier said.

Butkevicius said that the Lithuanian side is satisfied with the development of bilateral relations and looking forward to further expanding bilateral trade and investment cooperation.

“The ‘16+1’ mechanism is of great importance, and Lithuania is willing to actively promote bilateral cooperation to achieve new results,” Butkevicius said.

When talking with Fico, Premier Li said both sides should respect each other’s core interests and major concerns and promote the healthy and stable development of bilateral relations.

For his part, Fico said the Slovak government attaches great importance to its relations with China and sticks to the one-China policy. Slovakia is willing to join efforts with China to advance the healthy development of bilateral ties.
