Internet Plus governance has been a major initiative to improve the quality and efficiency of government services, and it will continue to be implemented this year.

The internet has not only provided people with more access to public services, but has helped the government improve its administration.

Premier Li Keqiang has repeatedly urged governments at all levels to prioritize internet-based development and administration.

The State Council has issued a guideline to further promote “Internet Plus governance” and improve the quality and efficiency of government services.

The guideline says that the promotion of “Internet Plus governance” is not only crucial to the reform of streamlining administration, strengthening supervision and optimizing service, but also important for transforming government functions, improving government service efficiency and transparency, and further stimulating market vitality and social creativity.

China has decided to put more administrative services online to improve transparency and efficiency in the government’s work, the State Council announced on Sept 14.

The government will continue pushing its “Internet Plus” initiative to improve administrative services, cut red tape and reduce costs, according a statement by the State Council executive meeting presided over by Premier Li Keqiang.

The Chinese government will step up efforts to improve government services via Internet Plus and plans to set a nationwide internet-based government service system by the end of 2020, according to a new guideline by the State Council.

The new guideline was approved at the State Council executive meeting on Sept 14 chaired by Premier Li Keqiang.

On April 26, 2016

On April 26, the State Council issued a circular regarding tests for further promotion of “Internet Plus administrative services” to benefit people through information sharing among government departments.

Over the next two years, the tests will be implemented in 80 cities. Inter-provincial digital license exchange and online identity verification system will be fully applied in 2017, reaching the “one number, one window, and one network” target that covers more than 80 percent of basic public services, according to the State Council.
