Premier Li meets with Saudi king in Beijing

Premier Li Keqiang met with Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in Beijing on March 17, 2017. The Saudi king is on a state visit to China.

Premier Li said that China and Saudi Arabia enjoy solid mutual political trust, and have achieved rich results in pragmatic cooperation.

President Xi Jinping held a fruitful talk with King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on March 16.

China respects all countries’ choice of development path adapted for their own conditions, and supports Saudi Arabia’s efforts in maintaining national stability, the Premier noted.

He said that China is willing to consolidate mutual trust with Saudi Arabia, align the development strategies of both sides, enhance cooperation in production capacity, energy and advanced technology and strengthen coordination in international and regional affairs to take bilateral relations to a new high.

Premier Li noted that the economic development and improvement of people’s lives need a peaceful and stable environment.

As global political and economic uncertainties and instabilities are still prominent, China wishes to strengthen cooperation with all nations including Saudi Arabia to respond to various risks and challenges, maintain peace and stability and promote development and cooperation among all nations, the Premier said.

King Salman said China and Saudi Arabia have enjoyed a long history of friendship, and reached extensive consensus in pragmatic cooperation.

He said Saudi Arabia is confident in the bilateral cooperation, and wishes to continue to play a role in the high-level China-Saudi Arabia joint committee to enhance practical cooperation in various fields, jointly respond to the threats of terrorism and extremism, and better maintain regional and global peace and stability.
