Premier Li Keqiang met with Brigitte Zypries, the German chancellor’s special representative and Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, in Beijing on May 15.
Zypries came to Beijing to attend the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.
Premier Li hailed China-Germany relations, saying that Germany is an important partner in Europe, and the comprehensive and in-depth development of bilateral relations is in the fundamental interest for both countries and their people.
China is willing to strengthen high-level exchanges with Germany and have in-depth communication on a broad range of issues of common concern, bringing bilateral relations and cooperation to a new level, the Premier said.
China supports Germany in hosting the G20 summit and hopes Germany will keep playing a constructive role to promote healthy and stable development of relations and cooperation between China and Europe, he added.
Zypries conveyed Chancellor Angela Merkel’s cordial greetings and said that relations between China and Germany are stable and strong, and Germany is willing to enhance communication, strengthen cooperation in all sectors, and promote the development of bilateral relations.
