DALIAN — Premier Li Keqiang on June 27 said China stands ready to integrate its development strategies with Sweden’s and promote innovation cooperation.
Premier Li made the remarks during a meeting with Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven, who is attending Summer Davos in the northeastern coastal city Dalian.
Sweden was the first western country to established diplomatic ties with the People’s Republic of China, and bilateral relations are stable and healthy with new progress achieved in various fields.
Premier Li said China is willing to work with Sweden on the principles of mutual respect, equality, and mutual learning, to develop their traditional friendship and expand shared interests.
China will strengthen cooperation in traditional and new areas with Sweden, and discuss cooperation on third-party markets, Premier Li said.
Premier Li stressed that Sweden is an important cooperative partner in Europe, especially in Northern Europe, and hoped Sweden would promote China-Europe cooperation and China-Northern Europe cooperation.
For his part, Lofven expressed his condolences for the victims in the recent landslide in Southwest China’s Sichuan province.
He said Sweden highly appreciated China’s important role in the international affairs, and stands ready to expand bilateral practical cooperation with China, enhance coordination in multilateral affairs and promote the further development of bilateral ties.
