Premier Li Keqiang sent an instruction on Nov 12 to a conference held in Jinan city, Shandong province, on promoting innovative cooperation among industries, universities and research institutes.

In his instruction, Premier Li emphasized that cooperation based on the spirit of mass entrepreneurship and innovation and the application of Internet Plus should be regarded as a pillar for innovation-driven development.

Besides, the cooperation should be deepened to establish a technological innovation system that can effectively facilitate research breakthroughs and the commercialization of innovation and research outcomes, and help create new growth drivers, said the Premier.

He hoped that all related parties would pool their wisdom and efforts to contribute to enhancing innovation capacity and competitiveness of the economy.

The conference exchanged opinions on major topics and projects such as the Belt and Road Initiative, innovation design, smart manufacturing, cooperation between universities and enterprises, and Health China.
