Premier Li Keqiang met with Djibouti President Ismail Omar Guelleh, who began his state visit, in Beijing on Nov 24.
Premier Li said Djibouti is an important partner in the East Africa region and the two countries have always enjoyed mutual respect and equal treatment.
He added that the strategic partnership established during the meeting between President Xi Jinping and President Guelleh on Nov 23 has set a comprehensive layout for the future development of bilateral ties.
“The two sides will further advance mutual trust and deepen cooperation, so as to set an example for South-South cooperation,” said the Premier.
Premier Li said China is willing to support social and economic development of Djibouti through cooperation in infrastructure construction, industrial capacity, and regional trade and logistics hubs.
“China also encourages qualified Chinese enterprises to invest in Djibouti,” said the Premier, and he hoped Djibouti can create a safe and easy investment environment.

Guelleh said that with 38 years of diplomatic relationship, China and Djibouti have gained win-win results in cooperation in various fields.
He said Djibouti appreciated China’s support to the country’s development, and his nation is willing to further promote mutual development and deepen bilateral cooperation based on both sides’ comparative advantages.
