Premier Li Keqiang sent an instruction to the third China Brand Day held on May 10 in Shanghai, calling for enterprises to step up brand building and to propel the development of the advanced manufacturing and service sectors.
This is in line with current efforts to upgrade consumption, tap the potential of the domestic market, and increase high-quality development, he said, adding that over the past few years more and more market players have engaged in brand building.
Departments in all regions should constantly streamline administration, create a favorable environment for market competition, and step up mass entrepreneurship and innovation.
The spirit of professionalism and craftsmanship should be encouraged among enterprises, and they should stick to integrity, strive for excellence, and compete on a fair playground, in a bid to bring more globally received Chinese brands to the fore, allowing the rest of the world to share premium Chinese products and services, Premier Li said.
State Councilor Wang Yong also addressed the event. All departments involved should consider supply-side restructuring the main task to fulfill and make brand building a major driver of enterprise development, Wang said.
With improvements constantly enhancing the supply system, a further multitude of first-class Chinese brands should spring up to underpin China’s high-quality economic development, Wang said.
Wang said brand building is significant, as it stands for quality, service and reputation, along with being a core resource for enterprises in market competition.
He called for a new round of technological and industrial revolution, sticking to the innovation-driven strategy, and for strengthened technological innovation to increase brands’ technology content, value, innovation and life vitality.
Wang also called for craftsmanship, professionalism and entrepreneurship, and urged efforts to enhance quality, and make high quality a trademark of Chinese manufacturing.
He urged departments to enhance market regulation, crack down on intellectual property infringement and the production and sales of fake goods, and to break down regional protectionism and industry barriers.
Enterprises are encouraged to strengthen international cooperation and build more Chinese brands with international influence that satisfy international market needs, Wang said.
He also inspected enterprises involved in quality enhancement and brand establishment work and an examination center in Shanghai.
