Premier Li Keqiang and his wife visited Garvey Farm in Shannon with Enda Kenny and his wife on May 17 local time.
Kenny joined Premier Li at the entrance of the traditional Irish dairy farm, which covers an area of 107 hectares and has been operated by the Garvey family for more than 250 years.
Premier Li viewed herds and listened about approaches to crop cultivation, agro-processing and quality control.
The owner of the farm welcomed the Premier with home-made bread, cheese and milk.
Premier Li said that the agriculture and animal husbandry of Ireland are well developed, with high standards of services and advanced management technology.
China, as a major agricultural country, is transforming its agricultural development mode and advancing its modernization. Chinese people are expecting more, healthier and safer food and agricultural products, Premier Li said.
Saying China has been the fastest-growing destination for Irish food exports, the Premier is seeking further cooperation in the agricultural sector with Ireland.
