Premier Li Keqiang holds an informal meeting with Chinese officials during a flight heading to Latin America at the start of his tour.

A high-end meeting started once the special plane carrying Premier Li Keqiang and his delegation took off on May 17, heading to Brazil, the first stop of Li’s Latin American tour.

The meeting up in the air was more casual than usual, as the Premier himself wearing a white shirt without ties and his ministers all in sports clothes.

Wang Yi, minister of foreign affairs, Xu Shaoshi, minister of the National Development and Reform Commission, Gao Hucheng, minister of commerce, Han Changfu, minister of agriculture and other senior officials who followed Li’s Latin American trip attended the meeting.

Li and his ministers discussed the essential mission of the trip - global industrial cooperation - and finalized the details of deals expected to be signed with the four nations’ governments.

The tea cups swayed as the plane was slightly bumping. Premier Li had to raise his voice to make himself heard. Outside the window were clouds and the plane’s wings. All this reminded people that the plane was up in the air.

Li analyzed the importance to push forward global industrial cooperation, as well as the exchanges between the Chinese and Latin American peoples.

Li’s Latin American trip, which lasting for 13 days, has taken him to six countries and seven cities. He flew more than 60 hours, or 50,000 km. The plane took off and landed for 16 times.
