China attaches great importance to industrial cooperation with UNIDO

Premier Li Keqiang met Li Yong, director-general of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) at the Great Hall of the People on June 9.

The Premier said China has been expanding cooperation with UNIDO and has achieved results. At present China is pushing forward new industrialization and green development driven by innovation. The country is also exploring cooperation with other countries for Chinese-made facilities to be exported.

Development of the Chinese economy echoes the demands of industrialization of developing countries and the re-industrialization of developed nations. It is also an important way to expand cooperation among developing nations and deepen collaboration between developing and developed countries, the Premier said.

The Premier said China attaches great importance to its cooperation with UNIDO and will support work of the organization and its director-general.

He said China will join with UNIDO to help developing countries accelerate their industrialization process and push forward inclusiveness and sustainable industrial development.

Li Yong said his organization appreciates the long-term support from the Chinese government and values China’s efforts to deepen reform. He said UNIDO is willing to consolidate bilateral and trilateral production capacity cooperation with China to contribute to development around the world.
