Premier Li Keqiang attended the annual World Economic Forum(WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, and visited Switzerland from Jan 20 to 22. He delivered a keynote speech at the meeting on China’s economic situation and its policies concerning comprehensive reform and opening up. During the working visit to Switzerland, Li exchanged views with President of the Swiss Confederation Simonetta Sommaruga on bilateral ties and regional issues of common concern, and outlined a roadmap for future development of bilateral relations. They witnessed the signing of several cooperation accords in finance, food, medicine, scientific research and personnel exchanges between the two countries.

Premier visits Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Chile (May 18-26)

Premier Li Keqiang gave a speech at the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) on May 25.

Premier Li Keqiang takes a ride on a new train in Rio de Janeiro on May 20. The train was purchased by the city’s Metro system for the new Metro Line 4 for the Olympic Games. The train, made by China CNR Corp, was handed over to the local government in February.

Premier Li Keqiang attended a series of cultural exchange activities in Lima, capital of Peru, as part of his Latin American tour on May 23, including a visit to historical relics of the Chavin and Inca cultures and photo exhibitions on the origins of Chinese culture.

Premier Li Keqiang visited four Latin American countries - Brazil, Colombia, Peru and Chile - from May 18 to 26. Besides a string of meetings of leaders of the four countries, the visit also saw a number of agreements signed concerning production capacity cooperation and the proposal of the “3×3 Model”, an important initiative for industrial cooperation between China, Latin America and the Caribbean. Including stopovers in Ireland and Spain, the Premier actually visited six countries, seven cities, traveled more than 50,000 kilometers and spent over 60 hours in flight.

Premier attends China-EU Summit, visits Belgium, France (June 28-July 2)

Premier Li Keqiang co-chaired the 17th China-EU leaders’ meeting in Brussels with President of the European Council Donald Tusk and President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker on June 29.

Premier Li Keqiang attended a joint news conference on June 29 along with Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel.

Premier Li Keqiang on July 2 visited the headquarters of Airbus, in Toulouse, France, accompanied by French Prime Minister Manuel Valls.

Between June 28 and July 2, Premier Li Keqiang attended the 17th China-EU Summit in Brussels, and he also visited Belgium and France - and the headquarters of the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). In Brussels, Premier Li co-chaired the China-EU leaders’ meeting with President of the European Council Donald Tusk and President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker. The Premier also met with Martin Schulz, president of the European Parliament. In Paris, Premier Li met French President Francois Hollande and also held a meeting with French Prime Minister Manuel Valls. The two countries issued a joint statement on cooperation with third parties and a joint statement on China-France nuclear cooperation.


Premier Li Keqiang met with President of the Republic of Korea Park Geun-hye in Seoul on Oct 31.

Premier Li Keqiang, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and ROK President Park Geun-hye attended a trilateral summit in Seoul on Nov 1.

Premier Li Keqiang on Nov 2 greeted youth representatives from China and the Republic of Korea at the China-ROK Young Leaders Forum in Seoul.

From Oct 31 to Nov 2, Premier Li Keqiang attended the sixth trilateral summit between China, Japan and the Republic of Korea in Seoul. During his visit, Premier Li met with ROK President Park Geun-hye and witnessed the signing of bilateral cooperation deals. The Premier also delivered a speech to the ROK business circle, visited an innovative economic center in Gyeonggi-do, addressed the China-ROK youth forum, and attended the closing ceremony of the “Chinese Tourism Year in ROK”.


Premier Li Keqiang met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Nov 21.

On Nov 21, Premier Li Keqiang made his opening remarks at the 18th Leaders’ Meeting between China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (10+1) held in Malaysia’s capital city, Kuala Lumpur.

During Nov 20-23, Premier Li Keqiang attended the 18th China-ASEAN (10+1) leaders’ meeting, the 18th ASEAN-China, Japan and South Korea (10+3) leaders’ meeting and the 10th East Asia Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. On his first trip to Malaysia since taking office as premier in 2013, Premier Li also held talks with Malaysian leaders and addressed a forum of bilateral economic and trade cooperation. Documents signed included agreements on trade and culture exchanges and judicial cooperation.
