Premier Li calls for innovative spirit in manufacturing

Intelligent manufacturing requires more innovative spirit, said Premier Li Keqiang during an inspection tour to Shaanxi province on July 10.

At Qinchuan Machine Tool & Tool Group in Baoji city, he was told that 98 percent of their output is made to order, and the enterprise established a team to encourage innovation. The team now contains three-quarters of its total staff.

Traditional standardized production process cannot meet individualized market needs, which provides huge potential for large-scale enterprises to advance “mass entrepreneurship and innovation”, said Premier Li.

Learning that the enterprise’s main field is the production of intelligent and precise equipment under the “Made in China 2025” initiative, which has enabled China to have its own core robotic driving device, Premier Li urged more efforts in enhancing intelligent manufacturing and pushing forward the innovative spirit.

“I hope you can make a real Made-in-China robot,” said the Premier.
