China streamlines government approvals

China is streamlining its administrative approvals further. Premier Li Keqiang endorsed a decision on Aug 15, 2014, cancelling or decentralizing more than 20 government approval procedures.

These amendments cover areas such as civil aviation, mining, shipping, telecom, financial services.

The decision is the latest in a series of government restructuring and transforming measures that began in March, 2013, which aims to give local governments more flexibility.
