Premier Li Keqiang is in Germany on the first leg of a three nation European tour, which will also take him to Russia and Italy. On Oct 10, Premier Li met with German President Joachim Gauck in Berlin.
During their meeting, Premier Li said China and Germany have reached an unprecedented level of cooperation from efforts of both sides. President Gauck said he admires the great achievements China has made and has full confidence in China’s future.
Premier Li is also expected to meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Oct 10. The two sides will hold the third Sino-German inter-governmental consultations. Germany is the only country with which China has agreed on this format of extensive exchange.
On Oct 11, Premier Li will head to Hamburg to attend the sixth meeting of the Hamburg Summit. Over 500 political and business leaders, including a Chinese delegation of over 70, will attend the summit, making it the largest ever held Sino-European business meeting.
