China’s 2015 government work report focused on improving governance. Premier Li vowed to delegate more power to grassroots administration and to exercise power in the spirit of the rule of law.
“We will do more to streamline administration and delegate more powers to lower-level governments and to society in general while improving regulation,” Premier Li said.
“This year, we will delegate the power or cancel the requirement for government review for more items, cancel all non-administrative review, and establish a system for exercising well-regulated management over the government review process,” Premier Li said.
“We will exercise power in accordance with the law, encourage thrift and oppose extravagance, and work painstakingly to improve Party conduct, promote integrity, and fight corruption,” the Premier said.
