Premier Li attends welcoming ceremony in Malaysia

Premier Li Keqiang attended an official welcoming ceremony in Kuala Lumpur on Nov 23, received by his Malaysian counterpart Najib Razak. Premier Li then inspected the guard of honor.

Earlier, Premier Li met with Malaysian business leaders. He urged them to make fresh contributions to the growth of bilateral ties in politics, the economy and culture. Premier Li also spoke at the Malaysia-China High Level Economic Forum, outlining efforts to strengthen financial cooperation with Malaysia.

China will grant a 50 billion yuan quota to Malaysia under the RMB Qualified Foreign Institutional Investor program - part of China’s efforts to internationalize the yuan.

On Nov 22, Premier Li visited the port city Malacca, visiting museums, and meeting the local governor. Malacca is in a key location as part of China’s 21st Century Maritime Silk Road initiative.
