Premier Li Keqiang said the Chinese government will set up a special fund and organize scientists to do more research on the causes of heavy winter smog in northern China. He said this while taking media questions in Beijing, after the closing of the Fifth Session of the 12th National People’s Congress.
He stressed that the situation is unlike those seen in other countries and requires more research to identify all the causes.
The Premier reiterated that five key measures were laid out in the government work report this year on fighting and winning the battle against smog, while admitting that the battle is a process.
