China is willing to increase imports from Belgium and promote cooperation between the two sides in Africa, Premier Li Keqiang said on April 9 when he met Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel at Egmont Palace.

China is willing to uphold the spirit of openness, pragmatism and innovation and to strengthen cooperation in various fields, Premier Li said.

He also encouraged the two sides to closely communicate and coordinate on international and regional issues, implement a series of consensuses reached by both sides and further promote bilateral ties.

Michel said Belgium attaches great importance to relations with China.

“We are willing to strengthen dialogue and communication with China and deepen pragmatic cooperation in trade, agriculture and shipping,” he added.
