State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Guo Shengkun has emphasized the importance of deepening public security reform and improving public services to meet people’s needs and beef up security.
The reform is crucial for social stability, he said during a trip to East China’s Zhejiang province on May 7-8.
Guo visited local police stations and communities, seeking opinions on improving grass-roots security measures and police work innovation.
During his inspection, he said that reform in the public security sector should focus on improving service and management based on the needs of the general public.
He also called for substantial efforts to implement measures such as streamlining the process for household registration, driving management and cross-border applications to make people’s lives easier.
