BEIJING — China will deepen legal cooperation with countries and regions along the Belt and Road, said State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
Wang made the remarks on July 2 while delivering a speech at the opening ceremony of the Forum on the Belt and Road Legal Cooperation.
He said that since it was proposed five years ago, the Belt and Road Initiative had achieved successful outcomes, developed beyond expectations and been welcomed by the international community.
“This is because the cooperation upholds the principle of equality and mutual benefit, win-win results, openness and inclusivity, integrates with development strategies of other countries, and is supported by rules and laws,” Wang said, vowing to improve the legal system, deepen legal exchange and cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
“China will contribute to implementing the Belt and Road legal cooperation research program, and support the legal ability and international legal personnel training along the Belt and Road.”
