Vice-premier attends Belt and Road high-level meeting

BEIJING — Vice-Premier Han Zheng on April 26 attended a high-level meeting of the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing.

While addressing the meeting, Han, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said that the keynote speech made by President Xi Jinping at the opening ceremony of the forum has enabled all participants to have more aspiration and expectation for the joint building of the Belt and Road in the future.

Han said the Belt and Road is a road of opportunity and prosperity, which benefits the development of China as well as other countries.

Han called for further reinforcing the alignment of development strategies and plans, enhancing connectivity, upgrading trade and investment cooperation, improving financial services, and deepening people-to-people and cultural exchanges.
