Vice-premier stresses vocational education development

NANJING — Vice-Premier Sun Chunlan has stressed the need to speed up the building of a modern vocational education system.

Sun, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks during an inspection tour of Jiangsu province from May 22 to 24.

Efforts should be made to deepen reforms on teaching and learning in vocational schools and encourage the integrated development of industrial and educational entities, Sun said.

She also asked government bodies, educational schools, and enterprises to focus on cultivating strong talent for practical skills and enhance the training of high-calibre teachers.
