CHANGCHUN — Vice-Premier Hu Chunhua called for more efforts to promote stable agricultural development and increase farmers’ incomes.
Hu, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the remarks during on July 4 an inspection of agriculture and rural affairs in Northeast China’s Jilin province.
The supply-side structural reform in the agricultural sector should be expanded in a bid to provide solid support for the sound economic development and social stability, he said.
While saying that the primary task of agriculture and rural affairs is to guarantee the effective supply of important farm produce, especially grains, Hu urged for great efforts to develop processing and circulation of farm produce, improve benefit of agricultural sector’s industry chain, and widen channels to increase farmers’ incomes.
